Equinox Is Taking Performance Hospitality to the Caribbean

January 14, 2026

The rise of wellness-first resorts built for longevity, not just leisure.

Equinox Hotels is expanding its performance-first hospitality model to the Caribbean with the launch of Equinox Hotels Resort Anguilla Port Nimara—its first destination in the region.

Set on the southwest coast of Anguilla, the resort will sit on privately owned beachfront land between Cap Juluca and Altamer, complete with a 118-berth marina capable of hosting yachts up to 240+ feet. Translation: this isn’t just a hotel—it’s a wellness-forward destination built for high-performance travelers.

What’s Coming to Port Nimara

The resort will feature 62 total accommodations, including:

  • 18 oceanfront villas
  • 18 upland villas
  • 35 branded Equinox residences

Guests will have access to:

  • A full Equinox Fitness Club
  • The Spa by Equinox Hotels, built around recovery and regeneration
  • A health-forward dining concept
  • Luxury retail and a promenade of restaurants and bars connecting the marina to the beach

It’s Equinox’s familiar formula—training, recovery, nutrition, and design—scaled to a resort setting.

Why This Move Matters

Equinox Hotels currently operates its flagship property in New York City and has already announced a future resort in Saudi Arabia. Anguilla signals something bigger: performance wellness is becoming a global hospitality standard, not just an urban luxury.

As travelers increasingly prioritize recovery, sleep quality, movement, and stress reduction, hotel brands are racing to evolve beyond traditional spa menus.

Case in point: Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman recently reopened a redesigned spa featuring cold plunges, hydrotherapy circuits, vibroacoustic massage tables, and personalized wellness programming guided by on-site coaches.

The Playbook Take

Luxury hospitality is no longer about indulgence alone—it’s about how you feel when you leave. Equinox’s expansion into resort destinations shows where the market is headed: environments engineered for performance, recovery, and longevity. Expect more hotels to follow, and fewer vacations that undo your health habits.
