A new model for female-focused nutrition, led by lived experience and real data.
Biologica has officially launched with $7 million in seed funding, introducing a women’s health brand built on a simple but overlooked insight: a woman’s hormonal age matters more than the number on her birth certificate.
The company is the newest venture from Allbirds co-founder Joey Zwillinger, but its origin story belongs to Liz Zwillinger, Biologica’s co-founder, whose years navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and early perimenopause exposed just how fragmented women’s health solutions have become.
“I was mixing pills, powders, advice from Instagram doctors, and conversations with friends,” Liz shared. “Nothing met me where I actually was hormonally.”
That frustration became the foundation for Biologica.
Biologica launches with three effervescent daily Essentials, each aligned to a specific hormonal stage:
Rather than repackaging generic formulas, each product delivers clinically backed dosages tailored to shifting biology — combining acute symptom relief with foundational nutrient support.
The brand replaces handfuls of pills with a once-daily beverage, designed to be both effective and sustainable.
After conducting age-segmented focus groups and a 1,000-woman health study, Biologica identified patterns that traditional supplements miss:
Each formulation includes:
Examples include:
A medical advisory board of OB/GYNs, surgeons, and naturopathic doctors supports development, with Biologica’s first clinical study already underway.
The $7M seed round was led by Addition, with participation from Hawktail, Greycroft, True Beauty Ventures, Good Friends, and angels including Gabrielle Bernstein and Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt — signaling strong investor conviction in hormone-specific wellness.
Biologica reflects where women’s health is finally headed: precision over generalization.
By anchoring nutrition to hormonal biology — not age brackets or gendered guesswork — Biologica is building a smarter, more empathetic model for women’s wellness. Less noise. Fewer pills. More relevance.
This isn’t just a supplement brand.
It’s a reframing of how women are supported across life stages.
